I almost finished my Vegas album. It was so much fun. This morning I thought of a few more pages I would like to do . I will print out some more photos and finish that up over the next few weeks. I will post some of my layouts over the next few days. Watch for them!!
Thanks for stopping in…
To the loves of my life…
The joy that fills my heart is from the moments and smiles shared with my family and friends. These are the things that fill me and help my heart runnith over:)
Today marks the 20th Valentines Day spent with the man of my life. It seems so hard to believe that I was in grade ten when we met and began dating. Now we share so much together and plans for our future. It really is nice to know that true love can be found and kept. I truly can not imagine life without him.
Andie I love you…Happy Valentines Day. Thanks for making me laugh, for loving me and for ALWAYS being right by myside.
To the two beautiful children that fill our home with laughs and noise…I love you more then the green grass on the earth, more then all the waters of the seas, and more then all the stars in the sky…Happy Valentines Day Derek and Jessica-I love you so big!!!
And last but not least to all my readers and friends….may this day be wrapped in love for you today and always!
You are invited for an evening of fun and entertainment at Watson Elementary on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 4pm to 10.30pm.
Its a night to socialize with friends, do some crafting, be entertained by demonstrations, possibly learn some new skills and enjoy a great pizza dinner, with snacks, drinks and treats!
We’ve got lots of tables for those ladies who want to craft the night away. So bring your scrapbooking and any other craft project that you have on the go at the moment. However, we’ve also got a full schedule of demonstrations by local ladies who are taking on the world with their very individual business ventures.
Some businesses represented are: Flowers by Britt, Sarah Burke Photography, Creative Memories, Stampin’ Up, Close To My Heart, Avon, Dream A Little Dream, Pampered Chef, Bead Cave, The Goddess Movement, Soul Sister Shoes and many others who provide services or products locally that we all could use!
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased from myself in person or by mail, or purchased at Watson School from the secretary or purchased at the door on the night. However, if you do plan to craft, I would suggest you purchase your ticket early as there is a limit on the seating numbers.
Also, if you plan to craft and have special seating requests, please make me aware of this as I will be preparing the seating plan. If you have any special dietary requests, also, please contact me directly.

It was early at 4:30am as Jessica and I got ready to drive into Mission BC to see my wonderful manager run with the Olympic Torch. It was so much fun and very exciting to be a part of. With a Timmys in hand we cheered Joe on and then all headed to the ABC restaurant to celebrate his run over coffee and eggs.

Way to go Joe!! Go CANADA

It is always so hard to say good bye to those we love. It is equally as hard watching loved ones say good bye to a treasured family man.
Today we went to the memorial of a great Man. Ken will be missed so dearly here on earth. Those he loved are left behind to morn him. Yes, they will, but they will remember him and continue his legacy each and every day as they continue their journeys with his teachings.
The Porter family are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Good people I always say. That is what the Porter family are to so many.
I have always counted myself blessed for being able to call them friends. They are the kinda friends that are always there no matter what you need…true friends. They help make the world a great place. They also live their lives with good morals and values taught to them by their parents and now being taught to their next generation.
During the memorial a man spoke of a title of a new CD which was ‘ Life short call now’ and how it reflected on how Ken lived his life. I must tell you I really think more of us could take this as advice for our own lives. Take the time to say I love you. Make the time to speak with those who you truly treasure. Schedule time with your kids and make memories! Love the life you have and live it well! Laugh often….treasure the memories~
PS I love you all~
Life is a journey and a journey must come to an end. It is so sad to say goodbye to those we love. My husbands oldest (yes he is turning 40 this year but I do not mean old in age but years together LOL) dearest friend lost his father this week. It has our hearts sad for them. Ken was a wonderful man and a great father and grandfather. He will be missed.
When your heart is sad you get thinking about the meaning of life and your journey.
It brings me to a thought that has crossed my mind a lot the last few years-why is it that it takes a crisis or a holiday to get together with those who truly matter to us? This question is actually something that makes my soul hurt. As the stores open more and the jobs go 24 hours people spend less and less time together. We see the suffering all over the world and we hear all the time how rich we are in this country yet I think we are poor at heart. Sure we are rich in wealth but we lack the sense to do what is truly heartfelt and good for us. We are so busy making money for all the material things that we forget to laugh and play. My brother came back from a trip to Europe a few years ago and he told me we sure do things wrong over here. He said their society works yes but they know how to live. He said they do not work themselves to death and take way more holidays then us. They had better health because of it too.
I know Andie and I have fallen in this category too lately. Last year we went the whole year with out seeing his sister and I do not even think we had made it for a visit with his best friend and his family. It really makes me sad. My own father saw the kids less then a handful of times because of our different schedules. (It is not that we do not try)I know that some of this can not be changed over night but Andie and I have been aware of it for some time now. We have moved in a direction with our lives to try and change some of this. We want to look back at the end of this year and smile knowing that yes we had to work but boy did we play…with our kids, the dog, family and friends. That we truly lived!
Here is a little something a friend emailed me last week. I am not sure its origin but I thought it very appropriate:

I love the ocean. In fact I love it so much that even though we could not head down and camp beside it last May, we headed down for the day and played. After playing at the beach we stopped and had some clam chowder at a seafood hut. The kids thought it was the best day despite the 3 hour wait to cross the border for home.
These layouts are just a few of my favorites.

I did scraplift some of the one with Jessica at the beach. I saw a layout using the 8×12 at the bottom of the page from a Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine.
What a fabulous day we had today. We spent the day up at Manning Parkhttp://www.manningpark.com/ with the Lengerts celebrating the twins 11th birthday. The day was a surprise for the last few weeks for the boys(their dad spoiled it last night-lol). Jessica and Derek kept the secret so well. It was terrific. The boys were very excited.
The sun was shining and the air so crisp with a nice amount of fresh snow. The roads were good(which makes me happy). We just couldn’t have asked for a better day. The kids all had a marvelous day.
We spent most of the day on the Polar Coasterhttp://www.manningpark.com/winter.snowplay.html but at the end we watched the twins try out their new snowboards. Soon behind them and helping them all the way was little Derek. He has been busy practising on Tony Hawk skateboard for the Wii and will soon be trying out snowboarding on the slopes. He just moves so well. Not far behind him was our Andie who could not wait to talk one of the twins into letting him have a go with their boots and boards. Andie just itches to get into all sports. We love that. Kris gave it a good whirl as well and I can see that it won’t be long until Niki and I watch the kids and the men on the slopes sipping our Baileys and hot chocolate from the sidelines. LOL.
Well that is all for today…this mom is beat and ready to snuggle in with her hunney!

Will post more pictures soon!
